Hi All,

I have a form A.
I have modified changes to it by changing a display item to a text item.

The old form is called as old_form_A.

During testing:

On some occasions I get this error.

Frm-41803 No previous record to copy a value from.

Then it displays:

Frm-41802 Duplicate record function allowed on new records only.

The Form A works again on recompilation in a different environment.

The problem is also that the old_form_A also displays this error when run through the form builder sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

Can anyone please help as to what is happening? Is this a bug in forms? This is very inconsistent.

Thanks in advance.

Do you get this message on form start up or when pressing a certain button? Is there data on the screen when this happens? Is the cursor on the top line, bottom line, or somewhere in the middle?

I get this message on pressing a button which is called 'COPY'. There is data on the screen when this happens.

when it is on the 1st record it displays :
Frm-41803 No previous record to copy a value from.

When it is on the 2nd and 3rd record it displays:
Frm-41802 Duplicate record function allowed on new records only.

Please help..

The error on the first line is obvious.

On the subsequent lines you have to do a 'create_record' before you can duplicate into it.
