Hi Gurus
OS:- RHEL 4
Oracle :- 10.2.0.1

I am installing Oracle on a test box .
From installation guide I see ,according to the minimum hardware requirements RAM should be atleast 1024 M. The RAM I'm having is 512 M.

I have seen that with RAM 512 M it works fine on some of the servers I have.
The question I have is I find some kernel parameters have smaller value than minimum required.Should I change these kernel paramters to min required value? And If I change it , is it not dependent on RAM.

Those kernel parameters are

            Presant Value Min Req
Semopm 32 100
file-max 50615 65536
Rmem-default 110592 1048576
Rmem-max 110592 1048576
Wmem-max 110592 262144
Wmem-default 110592 2621144

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Anacedent for Reply

I have RTFM .The question is I know it works fine with RAM less than 1024M , and the only thing I wanted to know was ,If there would be any problems if I set the kernel parameters to the recommended values.?

Regards

You'll know for SURE after you make a change & test it yourself.
