Dear All
I am having problem in installing Developer 6i on WinXP, 8i. The error message generated is attached. Please help me sorting and soving the problem.

ORAINST.EXE has encountered problems and need to close.we are sorry for inconvenience.

Your installation CD might have problem. But Developer 6i usually do problem in installation on Xp.

I also had this same problem of installation which you are facing.

Try to reinstall the 6i or try another CD.

Create a directory on your hard disk, copy the whole CD into this directory and run setup from this location. Perhaps it'll help.

I installed XP service pack 2 and the problem is solved.
