We currently have a custom client/server application that uses database v8 (8.1.7.4.1) and Forms v6 (6.0.8.26.0).

First question is: can this be described as Oracle 8i / Forms 6i?

Second question is: if we wanted to do an upgrade, what should we think about moving to in terms of version, and type of application e.g. client/server, web etc?

Anything higher than your current version will be web.

I think it is Oracle 8i but I don't think it is Forms 6i.

Go to Forms 10g and Oracle 10g.

Thanks for your reply.

Could anyone confirm what is meant by 'Forms 6i' if Forms 6.0.8.26.0 is not this?

What is the relationship between Oracle Applications Framework (OAF) and Forms 10g web, if any? Does OAF apply to a completely custom Oracle application, or is it application specific, e.g. HR?

Any further replies much appreciated.

Spider,

You may have to ask your second question in the 'Oracle Fusion Apps & E-Business Suite' forum.
