CAN I USE 60 DIFFERENT VIEWS IN ONE BLOCK DYNAMICALLY? [message #238118] Wed, 16 May 2007 14:27 Go to next message

I am new at using forms, and what I want to do is have a selection block and based on the selection, I need to generate the view name that I need to use for the detailed block.

So for example, based on my selection block of:

Source: A
Year: 2005

I will need to use A_2005_VW view.

The tricky part is, the 60 views would have different columns.

I was able to use query_data_source_name to open the view dynamically, but I don't know to do this for 60 different views with different column names to display.

Please help!

Thanks.

Have the same names eg item01, item02, item03, and when they don't exist 'select' a 'null' entry and give it an 'alias' of 'item03', for example.
