I want to create an artificial scrollbar so that I can handle events. I put button on left and right just like the real scrollbar and I have my codes there. I also put a third button in between just like the sliding button of scrollbar. The problem is I cannot drag that third button like what we can do in real scrollbar.
Any idea about this?

Sure.

Create a real scrollbar.

Virtually - imagine the third button moves. If you have problems, take a drink or two and you'll probably see the whole room moves, not only a button.

Why on Earth would anyone want to reinvent the wheel?

Don't bother,I found the other way around.
Anyway, the idea of reinvent is to have extra mobility on scrollbar actions. There's no trigger present on scrollbar and key-scrup or key-scrdown don't work on me. I don't know what really these triggers are for, I just thought it's for scrollbar actions.

They work for me. Did you have the triggers at the form, block or item level? What makes you think they didn't work? Did you have 'message;pause;' statement pairs in your code or were you using the debugger?

I have message on those triggers but doesn't show when I touch the scrollbar. I'm using oracle ver.r R2.1
I tried to put on form, block and item level triggers but still no success.

Which version of Forms are you using???? 2.3, 3.4, 4.5, 5, 6, 6i, 9i, 10g?

Key up and key down work on the 'arrows' at each end of the scrollbar, and scroll up and scroll down on the area between the 'scroller' and the 'arrows'. I don't know what works with the 'scroller' itself.

It's Forms 5.(5.0.6.8.0) of oracle 5 r2.1
key-scrup and key-scrdown works only when I press page-up and page-down.

I asked previously

I have not worked with Forms 5 but I believe that it had 'quite a few problems'. Can you move to Forms 6 or 6i?

previously I've answered, Yes I put those two said triggers on block, form and item level. I use message to see if it's working. I'll try to work with 6i.
