hi,

there are 2 list items and if i select deptno from first list the corresponding records should be displayed in second list
the value of deptno should be given dynamically

If i understand your question correctly..
You are trying to default some value into the 2nd item based on the first item selection.

Make your lov for the first item return 2 values and direct the 2nd value into the 2nd item on ur screen (see LOV properties).
