forms migrating to oracle 9i [message #137119]

Hi All,
We have Oracle form application in Oracle 8i server. Now our application is migrating to oracle 9i server.
I want to know will our forms run exactly same as they were running in Oracle 8i?

If no the what are the changes i have to made to run it as exactly?

The Forms version previous to 9i is 6i, not 8i. 8i is probably the version of your database. Please review your installation and tell us (1) which version of Forms you are using and (2) are you currently running in client-server or 3-tier mode through an Application Server and local browser?

Hi,
(1) which version of Forms you are using : it is 6i and the database is in 8i.

(2) are you currently running in client-server or 3-tier mode through an Application Server and local browser : We are running at 2-tier ( C/S) .

Go to the Oracle documentation page http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/10g_forms.html, do a 'find' for 'migrat' and you will see links for migration to 10g and 9i.

Search this forum for 'converting' or 'convert', and 'migrate' or 'migrating'. There are numerous threads on moving from Forms 4.5 to Forms 6, and Forms 6 to Forms 9.

Hi,
My actual requirement is that :
We are migrating the oracle database from 8i to 9i but keeping
the forms at 6i.
So my real query is : Will i face any issues when i run these forms.
