I am not getting what is differenece between REP and RDF file format in oracle report.
When to give .rep and when to give .rdf extention.

I got this wrong last time. Smile Ah, search for 'rep' and 'rdf'.

RDF is for editing, REP is compiled. My suggestion, since Reports 6 don't worry about using rep files, the rdf files are good enough. When converting from 6 to 9 and 10 just open them in Report Builder, compile them, don't generate, and then save and run.
