I know it look childish at this level but as I don’t know so I want to learn that how to generate messages and alerts i.e.

If user enter character in number field. (Message generate).
If user enters number grater then limit. (Message generate).

Please advise how?

Easiest is to use the correct datatypes in the definition of the field and then use the lower and upper limits properties.

To research alert and messages, go to http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/forms.html. Find 'Form Builder Reference'. Download it and search for 'alert' and then 'message', there are good examples.
