Hi everybody,

I am in work of converting Forms 5 to Forms 6i. In this I am having one problem. In a form there is method called

tool_env.getvar

to read the value from windows registry. This works fine in Forms 5. But after converting into forms 6i it does not works. It returns null. Is there any other method to return the registry value. Can any one help me.

regards,

Arun

Look at http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/15326/0/. You need to use d2kwutil.

Please read the documentation that came with d2kwutil. You need to use the WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT Read_Registry command.

Hi david,

as per the documentation I had given. but it replies only null. i.e. not able to fetch the value from registry.

I had tried
1. tool_env.getvar('CHECK_UP_GRAPHICS',graph_path);
2. Win_API_Environment.Read_Registry('HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE','CHECK_UP_GRAPHICS', TRUE);

Both are repliying 'NO_DATA FOUND' exception

help me to solve this issue.

regards,

Arun

Are you running C/S or 3-tier? (If the later, the win_api_environment is running on the middle tier. Okay, that's wrong.)

Which version of the PLL and DLL do you have? Doco says you have to have 1.4.0.5 and 1.4.2.0 respectively to have the bug fix that allows non-adminstrators to read the registry.

I was looking at the Oracle Forms 6.0.6.0 version. Sorry.

I have attached the 6.0.6.0 doco. Please attach in your reply the doco that came with your version.
