What do you mean by 'uni code'? Please give a little more detail.

It sounds like you may need to change the NLS_LANG and NLS_LANGUAGE settings in your enviuronments.

Search this forum for 'NLS', 'NLS_LANG', and 'NLS_LANGUAGE'. But this example is probably enough http://www.orafaq.com/forum/m/125221/67467/?srch=nls_lang#msg_125221.

The fields in which you want to write only arabic, change the properties of those fields :
Font Name : Arabic Transparent
Initial Keyboard State : Local
Reading Order : Right to Left
Keyboard State : Local Only

Set these properties of the field where you want to type only arabic. You can type english in other fields.
If this is what you'r intended to do then cheers, if not then describe briefly what else you want to do.

Regards.

hmmm.....I'm using Oracle 9i Database and forms 6i.
which version of database and forms you'r using?
Secondly, have you made your windows Arabic Enabled?
i.e: When you press Alt + Shift from your keyboard, can you write arabic in notepad?
If no then make your window Arabic enabled first.
And in forms you don't need to change the font name, just change the properties of the field under the heading International.
There you can find these properties to set the field's language Local and reading order from right to left etc...

To open the file and see what it in it. Click on the image, when it opens then save it in your computer as .bmp image. Then open it. If not clear then open this image in the window's paint brush. Everything will be clear.
I downloaded the image and it is clear.
You may need the windows 2000 operating system CD to make your window arabic enabled.
Go to control panel and the then Regional and Languages option. You can make your window arabic enabled from there. Find teh attached file as well and check it.

Open NOTEPAD.
Write something. You'll see english alphabets there. Now press Alt+Shift from the keyboard and write something again on the notepad.
Now you should see arabic alphabets if you have made your window arabic enabled.

First of all Open SQL*Plus.
do something there like this:
SQL> conn scott/tiger
Connected.
SQL> CREATE TABLE testme
  2  (ar VARCHAR2(32));

Table created.

SQL> INSERT INTO testme
  2  VALUES('ÇäÊ');

1 row created.

SQL> COMMIT;

Commit complete.

SQL> SELECT * FROM testme;

AR
--------------------------------
ÇäÊ

SQL> DROP TABLE testme;

Table dropped.
I wrote arabic but this forum is not arabic enabled so it's not showing here. If you can write arabic here and then retrieve it you'r almost done.
If you see ?????? in your query result, then let me know.

Check this and then tell me if you can store arabic characters in your database or not.

Regards.

Open Form Builder, Create a test form. Open the Canvas.
Select the text Tool and write something in Arabic. See if you can write arabic there as well or not. If not then See my first two posts and files attaached and make changes in the NLS_LANG parameter in the registry. To write and retrieve arabic in the form items you need to change some properties of the items.
Check my files again to know which item's property you have to change.

Regards.

Thanks for your appreciation. Sounds nice. I'm from Pakistan but I'm working in Kuwait. To store images in database, search this forum and you'll find lots of posts because this question is asked almost every week here on this forum.
If you don't get the answer then reply me, I'll let you know how to do this.

Cheers.

Please help me out, what should I do, My forms and database character set is AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256.
