Hi all ,

I create the same package in 2 DB
- 10g database
- 9i database

and I've 2 developers
- developer 2000
- developer 10g

I make the following table to explain the problem
so please follow me in the table below
the first column is the developer
the second column is the database which connected to developer
the 3rd column the status after compile in developer
--------------------------------------------------------
developer---------------------Database-----------------status
--------------------------------------------------------
developer 2000 (connect to) DB 10g (after compile) work
developer 2000 (connect to) DB 9i (after compile) work
Developer 10g (connect to) DB 9i (after compile) work
Developer 10g (connect to) DB 10g (after compile) Error (identifier -package- must be declared)

the problem only when I connect developer 10g with database 10g
could not read the package ..

Any idea please ?
Thank you.

Are you connecting as the same user each time?
Are developer 2000 and 10g using the same tnsnames.ora file?

Yes , every thing is the same

and all forms are work good ,without any problem , in all status of connections.

Only the forms which call package has error in compile when the connection between
developer 10g and database 10g

Thank you for your interest

We are team and we've a network of computers connect to 2 servers
1st server 9i database
2nd server 10g database

other PC's (DEVELOPERS) some have windows XP , and the other have Win7

and we want to upgrade our system from database 9i to 10g and from developer 2000 to 10g

and we make compile to all system and it work OK
only when the FORM (in Developer 10g) call package from database 10g ,the problem is appear .

From my point of view, it is the strangest error you might get, regarding the combination list you posted in your first message. If *anything* should work properly, it is Forms 10g connected to 10g database. However: what operating system do these developers (the ones that experience problems) use? Is their combination of operating system + Developer Suite certified / supported? Note that Developer Suite 10g isn't certified with Windows 7 (at least, as far as I can tell), especially not with any MS Windows HOME edition.

Yes, littlefoot you are right it is not supported and there are known issues with windows 7(Form/Report builder Crashes). There is a patch available on MOS and you can download & apply may be that could help.
