How can i get the current position of the cursor?
i.e what record? is there any thing like 'first_record'?

Are you sure this a Replication question?
Post in what context you have this issue and what kind of cursor it is.

I actually have a master form..

This form displays many records, and it has a DETAILS button that is supposed to show the details of the RECORD where the cursor is in the master form.

This is basics i know, buyt i am new in form builder so thx for bearing with me.

Yes, master-detail relationship (if correctly set, and - if you follow the Wizard - it is) works automatically. No user intervention needed. You can, though, add some additional functionality later (just be careful not to fix what ain't broken).
