Hi, when i open form property by right clicking on my form, the 'Read-only' is unchecked.

i copied the form to the server. its copied. no problem till now.

but when i compile the form in unix server, it gives the below error

failed to compile.

below error message is shown in log file :

frm-10044 :cannot create file.

but i could compile the module in form builder. then why not in unix server when its not read-only ??

thanks

Oracle
FRM-10044: Cannot create file.

Cause:  Internal system error.

Action:  Contact your DBA or an Oracle support representative.

Do you have WRITE permission to write into the target directory (the one which is supposed to contain compiled version of your form)?

when i opened the property of the form in the server where i want to compile the form, "Read" was checked. i unchecked it and again tried to compile. even though i could not compile.

then i compiled another form which was in the same location which was not copied by me.it was there before. but i could compile it.
it has the same permissions which is there for my copied form.

then why i was not able to compile my form but was able to compile other form ??

thanks

i got it.

actually we got new user id in unix to have to forms and compile them. the old user id still exists. path is different for that.

in the property of the FTP software i didnot change the user id to new user id. hence it was copying the form with wrong user id and was not able to compile.

thanks
